Hooking is pretty hard to resist. Just go with it. Nothing like like a happy picture of your Queen Bean to brighten the day. My youngest, a son who goes by the similar moniker of "Bean Dip", is 11. Adorable, smiling baby-cuteness must be found elsewhere.
I will not become a Hooker... LOL ! I know the feeling. This past summer I crocheted a shawl out of Malabrigo Lace and loved it. The feel of the yarn on my fingers as opposed to the yarn being on two sticks and hardly having it run through the fingers at all. The mermaid tail is beautiful !
